The goal of the Capacity Building Service Centre (Service Centre) is to support the health sector of Papua New Guinea (PNG) and to improve the health of all Papua New Guineans.
This Service Centre will ensure capacity building principles and practice are at the centre of all accomplishments. It will develop the competencies and capabilities of individuals, organisations, and systems in the health sector that will lead to sustained and self generating performance improvement.
The Service Centre will be implemented within a Partnership Approach. At the heart of this approach is the agreement that partners will develop and maintain strong, cooperative, and mutually respectful relations.
The partners for this initiative are representatives from the Government of PNG, represented by the Department of National Planning and Rural Development and the National Department of Health, and representatives from the Government of Australia through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and Partner contractor JTA International.
